Jadon’s karate essay
My name is Jadon, I am 15 and I am a student of the SAWMAK Karate Dojo. I go with my Dad and younger sister. I have been going to karate for 1 year and am now a green belt.
One of the main reasons I do Karate is because it is what I have wanted to do for a long time. I built some core strength and balance by doing Judo when I was younger, which I recommend as well.
Karate is fun and good exercise, as well as good for self-defence. It involves things like Kata (a sequence of moves in a set pattern), sparring (practicing techniques with another student or Sensei), bag work (doing an instructed attack on a punching bag or bodysuit) and basic techniques and skills.
I enjoy Kata quite a lot as it is a way to get some moves engraved in my mind. I also like sparring as it ups my confidence levels and lets me practice with some contact. Warming up is a key part of this Karate Dojo and we do a set of the same moves every week so that we can get used to them and improve. Some stretches include splits, butterfly stretch and touching the floor without bending your knees.
I recommend this Karate Dojo because it is a lot of fun, a good time of exercise that makes me stronger from the core outwards.
